Research Interest: Functional Genomics and Bioinformatics
Mengqi is a senior student at PKU majoring in Biology. She is interested in cats and currently working on a project to identify genes and mutations responsible for short tails in domestic cats. Combining tools in genetics and bioinformatics, she would like to learn more about the genetic basis of special phenotypes in certain cat breeds. She is also interested in the origin of various domestic cat breeds.
